Samsung Knox launched a highly successful campaign aimed at raising awareness about cybersecurity following the devastating WannaCry cyber attack that targeted the UK in May 2017. To achieve this goal, Samsung Knox partnered with The Telegraph to create a bespoke hub within Telegraph Business's masthead, focusing on the pressing challenges posed by the digital age.
Over the course of five months, the campaign featured two dedicated pages in both the daily and Saturday papers. These pages were meticulously crafted to provide valuable insights and interactive long-form content designed to educate executives in the healthcare, finance, and education sectors about the importance of digital security.
As the Art Director of the campaign, my mission was to develop a unique and engaging visual style that would effectively convey the message. We employed innovative fonts, dynamic imagery with subtle animations, and a positive, futuristic theme. The colour scheme, dominated by shades of blue and dark hues, unified the visual elements, creating a cohesive and visually striking campaign.
The Opinion pages, introduced as a six-part series in the Saturday Telegraph, featured industry leaders engaging in thought-provoking discussions about the risks and rewards of living in a data-driven and tech-centric world. One standout page delved into the intersection of human emotions and technology, featuring Mo Gawdat, Chief Business Officer for Google's lab X, who shared his emotional and positive perspective on technology's role in happiness.
To visually enhance each opinion piece, I employed a collage-style approach and commissioned two illustrators known for their fluid and engaging styles. These illustrations not only complemented the content but also guided readers through the narratives seamlessly.
The combination of trusted speakers, compelling content, and a cohesive design significantly increased brand trust by 20%. Moreover, the bespoke styling drove 40% of website visitors to recall Samsung Knox's website, with 34% of them expressing interest in the product.
