Telegraph Spark released a supplement in collaboration with The Telegraph newspaper following the UK's GCSE results, specifically targeting students who might need to navigate the clearing process. Clearing can be a challenging time for students who didn't achieve the grades they expected for university admission, so our design aimed to provide a positive and uplifting outlook.
The supplement's design incorporated vibrant colours as a recurring theme to infuse energy and optimism. We used fun and energetic illustrations to engage and reassure students. One notable feature was the inclusion of a "Snakes and Ladders" game, symbolising the various paths students might take during the clearing process.
The supplement's design was so compelling that it inspired The Telegraph's main paper to feature it as a 'puff' on the same day of its release. This was a significant achievement for Telegraph Spark commercial department, marking the first time such collaboration had occurred.
