Yorkshire Bank and Telegraph Spark partnered to address the core challenges that small businesses face are likely to face in the year ahead based on the results of a YouGov survey Telegraph Spark conducted among 1000 small and medium sized enterprises in the UK. The survey had five categories Brexit, Technology, Finance, Infrastructure, and Human Resources. The findings were written up as a white paper that served as the basis for a comprehensive campaign aimed at helping small businesses thrive.
As the creative director of this campaign, I led my team of designers to develop innovative ideas for visualising the statistics and graphs to use in a digital downloadable white-paper, a long-form article (which I personally designed), and an AMP story. We settled on a duo-toned blue and lilac colour scheme that unified the products and set the tone for the campaign. By storyboarding the flow of each product and analysing various design elements, we optimised the design for both print and digital formats, making the information easily accessible to readers. To make the content more engaging and digitally appealing, we incorporated numbered statistics that count as readers scroll through each section. Additionally, we added subtle animations to the long-form article to make the facts more visually appealing. I worked closely with the developer to ensure that the design followed the mock-up, resulting in a successful partnership that generated future business for Yorkshire Bank.
In conclusion, our partnership resulted in a dedicated hub for running and sustaining small businesses, including online articles and newsprint features on banking with Yorkshire Bank, as well as other resources that can help small businesses overcome their core challenges.
